Minister of Canadian Heritage Mélanie Joly announced today that Christa Dickenson, current President & CEO of Interactive Ontario, has been appointed to the role of Executive Director at Telefilm Canada. Her tenure at Telefilm Canada will begin July 30, 2018.

“Over the past four years, Christa has done a tremendous job steering Interactive Ontario,” said Interactive Ontario Chair Jeffrey Elliott. “Under her leadership, IO has increased its capacity to support the Ontario interactive digital media sector through advocacy work, research, professional development and international partnerships.”

Highlights of Ms. Dickenson’s tenure at Interactive Ontario include extensive advocacy around the Ontario Interactive Digital Media Tax Credit; the introduction of an annual Lobby Day and Interactive Digital Media Expo for MPPs and staff at Queen’s Park; the release of Measuring Success, the first economic impact study on Ontario’s IDM industry; and the rebrand of IO’s flagship fall conference under the name iVentures to encompass all forms of interactive digital media.
