Digital Media at the Crossroads (“DM@X”)
An Annual Conference on the Future of Content in Digital Media

This event, which will feature major speakers will be presenting on the future of content in digital media.

Topics include:

  • Canadian Content and the Role of the Over-the-Top Foreign Internet Services
  • What to Do About Google and Facebook News
  • European Audiovisual Policy and the Internet
  • Copyright Policy and New Technology
  • Measuring the Digital Media Universe in Canada
  • A “Town Hall” Meeting with the Broadcasting and Telecommunications Legislative Review Panel

Following a review of revenues, employment and future trends in each sector of the digital media universe in Canada, individual panels will address the future of over-the-top video services, the impact of Google and Facebook News on print media, and changes in copyright policy. An expert from the European Union will provide an update on developments affecting local content creation in Europe.  There will also be a “Town Hall” meeting with members of the Broadcasting and Telecommunications Legislative Review Panel, which is reviewing the federal legislation affecting the digital media sector.
