Applications are now open for Interactive Ontario’s ipprenticeship Program. This exciting new program will provide week-long apprenticeship placements at leading digital media companies to candidates who may have experienced barriers to entry in the IDM sector due to race, ethnicity, class, gender, sexual orientation, age, ability, religion or class. The program is open to anyone who self-identifies as underrepresented in the interactive digital media industry (but please note each company’s ipprenticeship focus below).
Apprentices will receive a combination of shadowing and one-on-one meetings with key team members, gaining gain behind-the-scenes exposure, knowledge transfer and access to industry professionals and networks.
Apprentices will also be provided with an honorarium of $1000 for their participation in the program.
Each of the three participants will undertake an ipprenticeship at one of these participating companies:
- Ubisoft Toronto – Women in Games ipprenticeship [application form]
- Groupe Média TFO – Francophone Women in Educational Digital media [English application / Candidature en Français]
- DHX Media – Youth of Underrepresented Background – Web Development, Video Apps and/or Amazon Web Services/IT ipprenticeship [application form]
ipprenticeships will take place between now and September 2017, with an exact date to be chosen based on mutually agreeable times for the apprentice and the company they are matched with.
