Interactive Ontario Board of Directors appoints new Chair

July 26, 2012

Interactive Ontario’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Peter Miller has been appointed Chair of the Board.  He takes over the role from Mark Bishop of marblemedia, a 10 year veteran of the IO Board of Directors and IO’s Chair since that position was created in 2009. Trevor Fencott of bitHeads will assume the role of Secretary. He will be taking over from Diana Cafazzo, who has been IO’s Secretary since the organization’s inception and who had also previously served as a member of the IO Board of Directors for eight years.

Mr. Miller was elected to the Board at the Interactive Ontario Annual General Meeting in April of this year. He is a lawyer and engineer with 20 years of media, production and distribution experience. His background includes senior positions with the Vision TV group of companies, CHUM Limited and the Canadian Association of Broadcasters.

“I am thrilled to be taking this role with Interactive Ontario,” said Miller. “It’s an exciting time for interactive digital media in Ontario and I look forward to working closely with the other members of the Board and the many companies that IO represents.”

“Our staff and Board would like to express our deepest gratitude to Mark Bishop and Diana Cafazzo for their incredible contributions to Interactive Ontario,” said IO President & CEO Donald Henderson. “Diana and Mark were each here when IO was created in 2001 and they have each played a significant role in shaping both the organization and the interactive industry in Ontario for more than a decade. We are grateful to have had their guidance and assistance.”

In addition to the appointments of Peter Miller and Trevor Fencott, Lucie Lalumière has been re-appointed for another term as Vice Chair and Spence McDonnell has been re-appointed for another term as IO’s Treasurer.
