Ontario schools produce great talent, and our industry provides great opportunities. The purpose of IO's Go Into Games (GIG) series is to help build relationships between Ontario's education system and video gaming industry by bringing industry professionals into classrooms across Ontario.

It will provide students who are studying video game development and related courses an opportunity to connect with professionals currently working in the field.

GIG also allows business leaders to form relationships with students who will become their future employees and educates students about the types of employment opportunities that exist with Ontario game studios upon graduation.

Ontario's Students

Ontario's game industry is full of exciting companies covering the range of platforms from casual to serious, online to console. Small to large shops thrive here and are on the lookout for talent that Ontario can provide. Industry professionals will help students learn the realities about the local industry; tips and tricks about what areas they need to focus on, and other hints to help them succeed.

Ontario's Schools

Ontario schools offer industry leading courses focusing on or related to Game Development. GIG works to initiate and foster relationships between schools and game studios allowing them to construct curriculum based on industry needs.

Currently Partnered Schools:

Brock University | Centennial College | Fanshawe College | George Brown College | Georgian College | McMaster University | Mohawk College | Niagara College | Sheridan College | University of Toronto

Ontario's Game Studios

GIG is helping to bridge the gap between Ontario studios and schools to facilitate strong relationships. Studios get to speak directly to their future employees as they help educate students on the skills they will need to get hired and succeed in this exciting industry. By connecting with schools, studios can have easier access to the right people involved in creating curriculum as well as internship programs.

Currently Partnered Studios:

Artech Studios | Bedlam Games | Big Blue Bubble | Bitcasters | Capybara Games | Digital Extremes | DrinkBox Studios | Frozen North Productions | Koei Canada | Red Jade | Silicon Knights | Spongelab Interactive
