Apple’s iTunes Store is featuring educational app iBiome-Wetland worldwide. This honor comes on the heels of the app’s fifth award from the teachers and parents community.

This app allows kids to build 4 unique bio domes that cover 3 different wetland habitats. To introduce over 50 plants and animals to their domes, kids link various species and environmental factors to learn each organism’s role in a particular food web. As their domes come to life, kids can increase any species and challenge themselves to balance a dynamic ecosystem.

“Since children’s attention is becoming increasingly focused on screens, we want this app to encourage curiosity about the amazing creatures and the natural habitats that surround them in nature, and encourage them go outdoors and experience the wonders in real life. We are thrilled by the Apple’s feature. ” said Jane Ji, president of Springbay Studio Ltd. Jane will speak about the app at our iLunch: New Uses for New Media on February 18th.

Springbay’s vision is shared by many organizations such as the “For Common Sense Education”, who selected iBiome-Wetland as one of the Best Learning Apps of 2015: “This smartly designed environmental sim lets kids explore three wetland habitats. By drawing connections between different species and creating a web, kids learn about producers and consumers and about predator/prey relationships.”

The studio is honored by the kind welcome and appreciation from parents and teachers for this app. In addition to the Best Learning Apps of 2015 from Common Sense Media, this app has also won the Smart Media Award from Academic’s Choice Award, the Best Teaching and Learning App from the American Association of School Librarians, the Gold Metal of Moms’ Choice Award and the Best Green Product from Dr. Toy.
